The Vaporub sold in pharmacies is not indicated for people with chronic lung diseases, emphysema, asthma, whooping cough, obstructive recurrent bronchitis, pregnant women and children who are under six.

Recipe No. 1 for homemade Vaporub

The ingredients needed are:

  • 100 ml of coconut oil (it can also be almond oil or olive oil)
  • 20 drops of essential oil of eucalyptus
  • 10 drops of essential oil of rosemary
  • 20 drops of essential oil of mint
  • 200 grams of cocoa butter.

Put the cocoa butter in a bathing water to simmer. When it is liquid, remove it from the heat and add coconut oil (or oil by your choice), always stirring to integrate well. Finally, pour one of the essential oils, stirring it constantly. When you get a homogeneous mixture, make a jar from opaque glass with a tight lid. Put it in a dark place and wait to solidify. You can keep it in the jar for a year. Use it whenever you want.

Recipe No. 2 for homemade Vaporub

In this case, it takes more of ingredients, although they are all very easy to get, do not worry. They are:

  • 120 ml of olive oil
  • 240 ml of coconut oil
  • 170 ml of beeswax (grated)
  • 35 drops of essential oil of eucalyptus
  • 30 drops of essential oil of mint
  • 15 drops of essential oil of rosemary
  • 15 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops of essential oil of camphor.

Pour a little water in a saucepan and then into a smaller pot put all the ingredients together. Heat the bathing water and stir it until it is well blended and the wax is melted.

Pour it into a glass bowl and leave it on room temperature to cool down and to solidify. Use is not recommended at children under two years.

Recipe No. 3 for homemade Vaporub

Unlike the other two, in this case we have a recipe that is suitable for babies. Home remedies are a good option to relieve symptoms of the cold at young children, because you do not give toxins or chemicals at an early age. The ingredients you need are:

  •         ¼ cup (60 ml) of coconut oil
  • 12 drops of essential oil of eucalyptus.

Heat the coconut oil and add the eucalyptus oil. Mix it well and let it cool. An hour later it has been cooled and solidified.  If you do not get eucalyptus oil, you can opt for lavender or chamomile (for infants less than two months) or tea tree (for babies over six months).
